📝 Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes Engineer with extensive, hands-on knowledge of OpenShift, core Kubernetes, and various Cloud-Native platforms.
The ideal candidate will be pivotal in managing container infrastructure, automating robust CI/CD processes, ensuring platform security and scalability, and collaborating strategically with development and operations teams. This role is essential for delivering highly reliable and efficient infrastructure solutions that support our application lifecycle.
1. Key Responsibilities
A. Container Platform Management

Deployment & Maintenance: Deploy, upgrade, and meticulously maintain both self-managed Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform clusters and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) environments.

Kubernetes Management: Manage core Kubernetes environments using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including essential capacity planning, performance tuning, and comprehensive troubleshooting.

Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute non-disruptive OpenShift cluster upgrades (e.g., version upgrades 4.x → 4.x), perform rigorous health checks, and manage reliable backup and recovery procedures.
B. CI/CD Implementation

Pipeline Design: Design, develop, and maintain automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing Jenkins, Tekton, and Argo CD.

Workflow Automation: Automate the complete build, deployment, and release workflows for microservices and modern cloud-native applications.
C. Cloud & Networking Infrastructure

Cloud Platforms: Work proficiently across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and utilize Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Services.

Networking Configuration: Configure and manage critical networking and application delivery components, specifically Azure Application Gateway and Akamai CDN.
D. Source Control & Artifact Management

Code Repositories: Manage application code repositories using GitHub.

Artifact Administration: Administer and maintain artifact repositories utilizing Nexus Repository Manager.
E. Automation & Configuration Management

Script Development: Develop and maintain core automation scripts using Helm, Bash, and YAML.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage Infrastructure as Code templates to ensure consistent and repeatable provisioning of environments.
F. Monitoring & Observability

Tool Implementation: Implement robust monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Datadog, and the EFK Stack.

Proactive Health: Set up comprehensive alerting, logging, and dashboarding to ensure proactive and continuous system health monitoring.
G. Messaging & API Management

Integration: Integrate and manage core messaging and API components, specifically AMQ Streams, Kafka, and 3scale API Management for distributed applications.
H. Security & Governance

Policy Enforcement: Implement and maintain stringent security policies using RHACS, RHACM, Azure Key Vault, RBAC, and IAM.

Compliance & Review: Conduct security reviews, enforce compliance checks, and maintain governance standards across all clusters and application workloads.
I. Operational Excellence

Service Management: Manage incidents, changes, and service requests utilizing ServiceNow.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with development, Quality Assurance (QA), and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth release management and optimal platform stability.
2. Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Experience: 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices, Kubernetes, and OpenShift platform administration.

Cloud & Networking: Strong foundational and practical understanding of Cloud Platforms (Azure, GCP) and core container networking fundamentals.

CI/CD Expertise: Proven, in-depth expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and automation.

Scripting Proficiency: Proficiency in using Helm, Bash, and YAML for automation.
-
Observability Tools: Demonstrated experience with key monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Datadog, EFK).

Security Knowledge: Strong knowledge of crucial security practices, including RBAC, IAM, and Key Management.

Troubleshooting: Excellent analytical and complex troubleshooting skills.

Communication: Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
3. Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: Holding a Red Hat OpenShift Administration Certification (e.g., EX280 or EX288).

GitOps: Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows using Argo CD.

IaC Tools: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible – optional).

Environment Experience: Experience operating in Hybrid or Multi-Cloud Kubernetes environments.
